Film Reviews – Let The Right One In

A rare opportunity presented itself this week and I was able to sit down and watch a movie in its entirety.  What a movie it was, Let The Right One In, easily the best film I’ve seen since Pan’s Labyrinth.

Directed by Tomas Alfredson this Swedish horror/drama features an extraordinary performance by the young Kåre Hedebrant.  Bullied and somewhat unloved Hedebrant’s Oskar meets the mysterious Eli (Lina Leandersson) one night outside the apartment where he lives and to which she has recently moved.

A strong relationship is quickly formed and Eli’s true nature soon revealed.  This melancholic story builds to an extraordinary climax, a cinematic moment that will stay with you for a long time.
